Campus Minister – EMMAUS COLLEGE, JIMBOOMBA
We are seeking a vibrant Campus Minister to provide faith and spiritual and pastoral support to our students. You will be part of our dynamic team which includes pastoral teachers, Learning & Teaching Leaders, School Counsellors, the Administration team collectively and individually, and other personnel.
The Campus Minister works in collaborative partnerships to:
- provide pastoral and spiritual support to students
- create opportunities for faith development of students
- advance the religious life of the College community
- foster the experience of Christian community within the school
- engage the College community in social justice and social action
- encourage and facilitate connections with church/faith communities and agencies
- undertake ongoing professional learning
Emmaus College is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational ecumenical College which fosters Christian unity through its active partnership with the local Anglican, Catholic, Lutheran and Uniting churches. In 2020 the College has a P-12 enrolment of 1480 students.
Emmaus is located on 21 hectares in a quiet bushland setting at 48 East Street, Jimboomba. To be successful in this role you will:

Youth Ministry Coordinator – Kedron Catholic Parish
Kedron Catholic Parish is seeking applications for the part-time position of a Youth Ministry Coordinator.
Key responsibilities
The successful applicant would be expected to work towards the establishment and development a junior youth ministry program in the parish for the purposes of evangelization and building community.
- Establish a firm foundation and vision for the growth of ministry to the youth of the parish in 2020 and beyond.
- Run a fortnightly junior youth group for young people in Years 4-7 that are focussed on building a strong peer community where evangelisation and a personal encounter with Jesus Christ can take place.
- Connect with students at local schools, particularly St Anthony’s Primary School, Padua College and Mt Alvernia College.
- Establish and implement a strategy to connect with students in local state schools.
- Identify and train volunteers to assist as leaders in a youth ministry team.
- Integrate the works of the youth ministry into the wider mission of the parish, and encourage opportunities for intergenerational relationships to flourish.
- Utilise social media to establish an online presence for the youth of Kedron Catholic Parish.
- Maintain open communication with the Parish Priest and Parish Manager and prepare a monthly overview of activities to present to the Holy Family Pastoral Parish Council.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join the international mission agency of the Catholic Church in Australia, which supports
children, communities and church leaders both in Australia and overseas.
Reporting to the Diocesan Director for the Archdiocese of Brisbane, your primary duty is to engage youth and schools across
QLD/NT in our revamped Socktober initiative as well as engage youth in mission and evangelisation.
During World Mission Month in October each year, Catholic Mission invites schools to participate in Socktober following our head,
heart and hands model: encouraging a learning mind, an open heart and hands for action. Socktober builds on Pope Francis’ recent
initiative Sport at the Service of Humanity and challenges children to experience their faith in action. Socktober is a whole of
community engagement tool and builds an understanding of mission in a face to face approach as well as an online and offline
approach. The international game of soccer is used as a vehicle for understanding mission using our unique Socktober educational
and fundraising platform: www.socktober.org.au. With over 1700 Catholic Schools across Australia, Socktober has the potential
to engage schools in mission in a way that is interactive and fun. A broader engagement of Socktober into soccer clubs is an
opportunity to grow into the wider community. Working across multiple key stakeholders, this position is responsible to take
Socktober into the regional settings supporting diocesan teams and schools in developing engaging Socktober event days in
October to provide an enriched experience of the work of Catholic Mission.
To succeed in this role you will need to:
Be eligible to work in Australia; Have knowledge and experience of principles and
techniques of fundraising, social marketing and social media within the not for profit sector; Be a natural organiser and be able to
confidently manage competing deadlines, multiple tasks and a broad range of stakeholders; Passionate about engagement within
the school environment including teachers, parents, students and broader school community; Have good time management and
attention to detail; Have tertiary qualifications at degree level in a relevant discipline (eg, in education, theology, fundraising or
sales/marketing); have excellent communication skills including active listening, presenting, facilitating and telephone; Have your
driver’s licence and be prepared to travel within the QLD/NT region; Be prepared to work a flexible schedule; Be able to adapt to
dynamic circumstances quickly and respond with energy.
Due to the essential breadth of involvement with catholic schools, religious education coordinators, clergy and the Catholic
Church’s evangelisation activities, this position is identified as requiring a Catholic who will have an understanding of, appreciation
for and commitment to promoting Catholic principles, values and global mission; understand the structure of the Catholic Church;
hold an affinity for Catholic values and beliefs, principles of justice, human rights and Catholic Social Teaching.
