Since the first World Youth Day with Pope John Paul II in 1984, young people have continued to flock to large scale events to have a tangible experience of the universal Church and be surrounded by a large number of young people who are just like them. In 2020, Pope Francis announced that local world youth day celebrations should take place on the Solemnity of Christ the King. To celebrate World Youth Day locally, on Saturday 19 November, the Youth and Young Adults team of Evangelisation Brisbane will host a Brisbane WYD festival day!

Picture this: an incredible day with your best mates playing touch footy, live music, experiencing a mini prayer pilgrimage, food trucks, new friends and more! We hope that you will be part of this day and celebrate being a young person in our Church!

We are encouraging youth groups to submit a team or two. Before you purchase a ticket, please make sure you have rallied your team together so the team name you register under is the same.

There will be two divisions: Juniors (Under 16s) and Opens (Over 16s). There is a minimum of 8 per team, but we encourage teams of 10.

Note – All under 18’s will be required to get a parental consent form signed & returned to us. We will email those to your group leader or directly you.

If you have questions about the registration process, or don’t have a team to register as a part of but you’re keen to be added to one, email catholiccollective@bne.catholic.net.au
